Vernissage in Bridgehouse Warendorf

My "Bunte Monochrom" opening last Saturday went really well. The doors to the beautiful Bridgehouse were opened and the magic began. Million thank-yous to all for coming and making it such a great success.

Bridgehouse Collections, jewel of the Ems

Did you know that black and white art looks amazing hung on a turquoise back drop? Neither did I ... until last week. Yep, last Friday saw the opening of a fabulous exiting interior decor boutique in downtown Warendorf. Bridgehouse Collections opened it's doors to an enthusiastic crowd. A crowd which gathered in anticipated delight at discovering the vision of founders Michael Ripploh and Fran Goodsell. The  resounding "oh's"' &"aaaah's" as the boutique was unveiled said it all. Much to my honour (and delight) a lovely selection of my work has been hung (for sale) in this new gem of a boutique and looks simply amazing (black and white hung on a turquoise wall is truly genius!) If you are ever in the area or simply keen on discovering ways of delighting friends and family with special gifts, be sure to keep Bridgehouse Collections on your radar! Last week-end was unexpected, well not the week-end itself but the turn of events! The Hug , Chinese Whispers and Bricks & Stones have unexpectedly made front page row and are sitting in the Heinrich Friederichs Museum' s "Alten Apotheke" Equine Gallery show windows in Warendorf, Germany.   Pull Forth and a few framed prints are holding up the fort inside. Very exciting to have been able to bring these special drawings out of hiding and straight into the limelight.

"Normality" is within reach

The end of a hectic three weeks is near; within touching distance. A wee lean foward and I'll be able to feel smooth reassuring vibes... Two week-ends of shows/exhibition and a mile stone "Back to School" have been at the forefront of my life. Unforgiving Generals in command of all my moves, thoughts and decisions...  I'll say no more. Drawings hanging in the club house under the watchful eye of wee "Taxi". Last week-end, my pencil drawings made their annual appearance in the   Ostenfelde  club-house for the annual  Ostenfelde Kutschfahrturnier  show.  They were hung alongside the brilliant work of fellow artist  Dirk Gross  for three days of showing. Dirk's work is exceptional. Poles apart from my black and white realism.  His paintings ooze energy, reel the viewer into an novel abstract world. Into a world brimming with new life, normality having crumbled at the way side in the wake of soul searching co...

Press conference and various steps before the big day.

All started with an idea, followed by structured inspiration, focused hard work, meticulous co-ordination and then a real live press conference. My one man show "Black on Grey on White" opened Friday the 9th of April in the Warendorf National Stud with a vernissage which welcomed over a 120 guests. It was a magical evening. Meeting friends, acquaintances and collectors. Sharing my art, my world with an enthusiastic and receptive audience. Launching my book "My Colours of Graphite". Saying thank- you speechlessly. Seeing red dots appear and left behind (5 so far). Collecting bookings to keep busy well into the new year. So proud, so overwhelmed and still at a loss for words. Images of the events will help explain, I'm sure, just why my emotions are still getting the better of me... Press Conference April 1st 2010. Georg Frerich, Hurricane, Susanne Schmidt-Rimkus, me, Nicole Uphoff-Selke and Herr Klaus Oortmann 10 minutes before the reporters arrived (trying to l...
