Now all  the boxes are gone thought you might like to have a wee insider peek of one of my favorite places. The drawing board This is where I stand and scribble for hours with passion. Always loved these photographs and was thrilled to find a wall Tattoo to liven up my small  all important drawing board.   Adored yellow sofa.   This is where the sun shines and the inspiration and knowledge fed (piles of art books and sketch pads on and under table).   Usually shared with a cat and other family members ;) Desk It had to be big so it's U shaped.  Decided to not stage a shot and this is usually the way it looks just before starting a new drawing, after having finished, invoiced and catalogued a complet...

That strange things can and may occur overnight in the studio, is a fact. Three days ago my blue tack took on a new shape and went all lost symbol on me. Giggling, I asked Jess for help. Lo and behold she pointed me in the right a direction, with a questionning look in her eyes. In her catty mind the culprits were so very obvious. Wilbur and Bernadette , bored of not being entertained as much as they are used to, bashfully decided to leave me a special "impossible to ignore" message... I love subtle hints and really there is only one thing for it: take their hint to heart, pump-up the volume and get back to the scribbling front asap....

Up and running and drawing! My pencils are enjoying their new home as are both Wilbur and Bernadette. The space we have been allocated is just fantastic! Our previous work area was really cool too. Totally different and just much much smaller. Here, well this is pure luxury with space for the indispensable drawing board and red trolleys but also for my (big) favorite sofa, all my music, books, fellow artist, mementos and ... a chess board. Re-arranged Desks Daylight light + view of drawing board New wall unit for files,books and music + trolleys for pencils and other tools. Spring has brought its annual wind (and rain) of change. This is good. Good for millions of us. Good for many reasons. Good for one place in particular: my wee nookie of a room I love to call "my studio". You can see more of my nest in a previous post and picks , for those of you familiar with this post you may well realise that the changes are minute...but important! A new wall unit allowing to organise more literature, files and better sound (hi-fi sitting high and proud). repositioning of desks making room for better movement: "rolling around in chair" (the slant in roof makes standing virtually impossible). new daylight artist light (most excellent xmas gift). The studio faces south and is not ideal for working without artificial light...long story! de-cluttering trolleys of unnecessary bits and bobs ( we all know about those ...

Have you ever wondered and secretly wanted to look into an artists studio? Curious to see where the work is created? Welcome into mine (It was tidy and the light was good, perfect conditions to let the world in.) Hello and welcome! It's small (you can only stand up at the door and one metre in), it's draughty, too cold in winter, too hot in summer, one straight wall, little storage place and faces south...but I LOVE it.  It is my space, my little kingdom, my little room where I can close the door, let the music blair and draw, draw and draw. I have 2 desks, one for matting and cutting and flat work and holding my stereo, the other one is THE drawing board - it's on a slight tilt. I have a sheep skin on my chair - keeps the back pain away.  Worked for my horses - seems to works for me.   I have 2 mechanics red trolleys (they are brilliant) I love the drawers and the way they "fold" away.  The best solution for organising all my bits and bobs and being able to find ...
