Front Window...

Last week-end was unexpected, well not the week-end itself but the turn of events!
The Hug, Chinese Whispers and Bricks & Stones have unexpectedly made front page row and are sitting in the Heinrich Friederichs Museum's "Alten Apotheke" Equine Gallery show windows in Warendorf, Germany.  Pull Forth and a few framed prints are holding up the fort inside.

Very exciting to have been able to bring these special drawings out of hiding and straight into the limelight.

Ally. New off the drawing board

Tender and trusting.

I met Ally last year.
Outside. free as a bird but never further than a metre away from us (and the camera lens).
She was a sensational model, posing beautifully with an air of elegance and wisdom.
Displaying an air of such grace and peace that instinctively the only way forward was to reach out and hug her.

And hugged she was.

Art challenge Day 4: Shadow PLay

Day 4 in the art challenge.
I'll just refer to it as shadow play.
Couple of shots on black and white playing with a strong light source and even stronger contrasts.
Love the effect.

Hoping that Lisa's Shoot Y'all Photography is up for the challenge. She really has some super images!

Day two in the artchain challenge: canine blunders

I don't know about you but I love out-takes.
Those great moments captured not quite how they were planned.
In our constant battle with perfectionism this side of our art-world tends to be hidden and very often deleted.
I still have a few.
A few lovely unique canine blunders.
They make me smile.
Can't be that bad right?

Prey - day #1 in the artchain

Over on on FB I have been nominated by friend and super photographer Lyne Raff to take part on the 5 day art challenge also referred to as artchain. The objective being to post a couple of images of your art work over a period of 5 days.

Loving a challenge, I obliged with three photographs I took a few summers ago.
I love birds and totally swoon over birds of prey. They possess not only a perfect
beauty but a gripping fascination.

p.s: In turn I nominated Linda Shantz who I'm sure will rise to the challenge and enjoy showing some of her excellent work :D

Pull forth

Last week, like so many weeks, went by in a bright spinning flash (there is such a thing... really!)

The trendy "dreaded lurgy- virus thingy" paid us all individual visits and tried it's damnedest to cool my hard fought back resolution of getting back into the swing of things.
It tried... and failed.

Now finished, with revisited lessons in mental focus, how to embrace loose strokes, speeding up, drawing from the "gut" and foreshortening, is Pull Forth.

A fab way of warming up the pencils!
